SEASHOTS
Jill Larson / Opal Cortlandt
This is where my Jill Larson adventure begins. For not only was she a Mademoiselle fashion model back in the 1960's, but she was a folk singer to boot! Yup folks! Just Us was the name of her folk/rock group. You entered here, by pressing on the link picture of her Top 40 record. A real bullet on the charts...yesiree indeedie, for 2 whole weeks at number 34! Actually Jill autographed the B-Side of the record, the hit side was entitled I Can't Grow Peaches On A Cherry Tree. You can hear Just Us In the soundtrack to "Rachel, Rachel" with Joanne Woodward. Look at the expression on her face. She was both shocked and overjoyed to see the record I handed her. She autographed it, but wanted to keep it herself, so I sent 2 other 45's of her old group to her, at the ABC TV studios. She told me she didn't even know the records were ever issued! Maybe it was released after she left the band, she couldn't recall for sure. In any event...What fun and what a nice lady she is!

Jill is seated next to her TV ex-husband Palmer Cortlandt,
who is cleverly portrayed by actor James Mitchell.
