Ruth Warrick / Phoebe English Wallingford
The Annual AMC Fan Luncheon in 1999 was a blast! One of the more fascinating conversations of the afternoon took place with "Duchess Phoebe," Ruth Warrick. I loved talking to her about some of her classic movie roles.
Ruth is curious about ALL MY CHILDREN SOUNDS FROM SEAHAAS...and asks what type of Phoebe rhetoric could be found within her collection of sound wavs at Wallingford Mansion.
She got the biggest kick out of hearing some of her best biting quips like....
"Oh! You little sneak....you stabbed me in the back with your Swedish meatballs!".....
The Grande Dame of All My Children. No one ever puts one over on Phoebe, and Ruth Warrick is such a sweet, smart lady as well! Thanks to Lin, for contributing this fantastic photo she snapped at this year's luncheon.
We all know Ruth's most famous movie role in Citizen Kane as the President's niece and Kane's wife, but folks....you have to see the movie Daisy Kenyon. Ruth Warrick makes Joan Crawford seem like a hopeless whimp in it! She does it vocally and emotionally using her wit and unlike Ms.Crawford, without the aid of any wire hangers! Go Ruthie!
All I can say is....I hope I look this good and am as vital as Ruth when I turn 84.
